Set up

Visit the GPT page
Log in to ChatGPT Plus
Connect with Todoist
When prompted, sign in to your Todoist account. Only need to do it once.
You can approve different Todoist requests.
Your data is between ChatGPT and Todoist only, and is NOT used for OpenAI training.

Start asking about your tasks and projects, even completed ones.

Walkthrough

1. Task Management:
Use GPT to manage your tasks. You can ask GPT to list all active tasks, create new tasks with detailed descriptions, update existing tasks, delete tasks, mark tasks as complete, or reopen them
For example, you could say: "Create my task 'Write Report' with a new deadline of next Friday."

2. Project Management:
Manage your projects through GPT. Get a list of all projects, create new projects, retrieve details about a specific project, update project details, or delete projects.
For instance, "Create a new project named 'TodoistGPT'."

3. Organizing Tasks and Projects:
Organize tasks within projects by sections. Ask GPT to list all sections in a project, create a new section, get details about a section, update or delete sections.
For example: user types:"In the 'TodoistGPT' project, add a task 'Finalize Homepage Design' for Thursday."
or you can ask GPT to update your description to the task as well : “Please add description for the Finalize Homepage Design tasks as well”

4. Collaboration:
Get a list of all collaborators in your Todoist. This can be useful for quickly assessing team involvement in various projects.
For example user types: “who is collaborating with me on the 'TodoistGPT' project?"

5. Label and Comment Management:
Manage your labels for tasks and projects. Create, update, and delete personal labels, or manage shared labels for collaborative work.
For instance: user can create new label by make a request: create a label 'High Priority'”
or types:
"GPT, show me all my labels."
"GPT, label the task 'Email Newsletter' with 'Urgent'."
"GPT, remove the label 'Old' from all tasks where it's applied."

Use GPT to manage comments on tasks and projects. This can be particularly useful for adding detailed notes or instructions.
For example : we can ask GPT to add comment on the task : "GPT, add a comment 'Reviewed and approved' to the task 'Finalize Homepage Design'."

6. Review and Reporting:
Ask GPT to provide a list of completed tasks for review or reporting purposes. This can be helpful for tracking progress or preparing productivity reports
For example: user types : "GPT, can you give me a list of tasks I completed this week?"
